My name is Penny Stracey, and I’ve been a self-employed K9 Beautician since 1990, bringing over 35 years of grooming experience.

I offer local collection and delivery services.

I operate from home in a calm, relaxed friendly setting that allows me to offer one-on-one service for you and your dog.

I’m always happy to provide advice and guidance on all aspects of dog care, including training and any other issues you might face with your pet.

Services range from simple nail clipping to comprehensive, full grooms.

During a grooming session, I will thoroughly brush out your dog’s coat to remove dead undercoat, de-mat where necessary, bathe them with shampoo best suited for their coat type, condition their fur if needed, fully fluff dry the coat, clean and (if necessary) pluck and treat their ears, trim and file nails, shape their coat through scissoring, clipping, or stripping per your preferences, and finish with a deodorizing spray. I also perform a full check for ticks, fleas, lumps, bumps, and inspect their anal glands; any findings are shared at pick-up and noted in your dog’s records.

For safety, dogs are secured with a slip collar while on the grooming table or in the bath and always lifted on and off the table to prevent injury. Larger dogs can use a walk-in shower, making the process easier and less stressful. There’s a secure, dog-proof garden available for toilet breaks.

Once grooming is finished, your dog will wait safely in a hallway cage—this precaution ensures both comfort and security for all pets in my care.

Outside of work, my family and I (my husband Richard, and daughters Louise & Rebecca) breed and show dogs across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. Our motor caravan is fully equipped for us and our dogs during these trips.

Additionally, I am an approved Kennel Club Championship Show Dog Judge, authorized to award Challenge Certificates to dogs of exceptional merit worthy of champion status. I also lecture at breed seminars.
